This lodge has a privileged location inside one of the largest private Estancias (ranches) in Patagonia with 360,000 acres (180,000 hectares) in the foothills of the Andes.
This is Chile’s flagship lodge for fly-fishing and outdoor activities with more than 30 years of experience, managed by the second generation of the Dufflocq family, founders of the first fly-fishing in Chile back in 1964.
This lodge offers an all-inclusive experience that allows you to immerse yourself in a variety of activities such as hikes, horseback riding, and nature excursions, among others, ensuring that your stay is filled with enriching experiences.
Horseback rides and hikes this vast working private ranch includes visits to gaucho (Patagonia’s cowboy) homesteads, this will allow you to experience local traditions and customs that are unique to this part of Patagonia.
This lodge gives you the privilege of an intimate and private experience, where you will be able to disconnect and tour the different environments; Mountains, Forests, Lakes, Rivers and remote valleys.

To get here you have to fly from Santiago, Chile and connect a flight to Balmaceda.
The lodge provides travelers with transfer services to and from Balmaceda airport according to pre-established schedules.

This lodge offers an impressive choice of guided hikes, horse rides, birdwatching, nature photography and fly-fishing programs, all led by experienced guides. Groups are generally small (1-4 people, 4 is average for the high season). Fly-fishing groups are two anglers per guide. With activities for all abilities, in different levels of difficulty and half- or full-day options. All excursions are included in the program.

Estancia de los Rios lodge has 6 ample rooms, designed to provide a comfortable stay while enjoying spectacular views to the surrounding landscape. Wi-Fi is only available within the lodge.

This lodge rates include: Accommodation in a double room with private bathroom. Daily guided excursions. Private transfers from Balmaceda airport to lodge and vice versa, all meals, lunch, and dinner accompanied by select of Chilean wines, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Use of 4x4 vehicles, boats or horses as required by the program.

Getting there
Friday: Depart the US, Canada or Europe. Arrive Saturday am to Santiago and connect a direct flight from Santiago to Coyhaique (Balmaceda airport) upon arrival, one of our guides will be waiting for you outside baggage claim to help you, and drive you to the lodge along the scenic Austral road. This trip takes about 4.5 or 5 hours depending on traffic and photo stops. Arrive to the lodge on time for quick orientation and lunch followed by a short excursion.
Notes on flights: On arrival, book flight arriving to Balmaceda after 13:00. On departure, book flight to Santiago, departing Balmaceda after 14:00
Telephone/Wifi The lodge has good wifi through Starlink. Cell phone signal is available at the lodge. For cell phone service, check that your cell phone provider has roaming service with a local company in Chile.
Special dietary needs Once your reservations is formalized we will send you a our oest information form, where, among other items, you can specify if you have any special dietary needs. This is so we can be prepared before your arrival or let you know in advance if there is any item we cannot find in Chile.
Tackle and equipment We will send you a complete list of suggested clothing and equipment prior to your visit.
Including a comprehensive list of fishing flies. We have fly tying equipment at the lodge. If you like to tie your own flies, you are welcome to use it, we would ask if you could bring a few hooks and other items o erials to cooperate in maintaining the stock.
